Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania
shoplifting and my rights
I''ve been charged with shoplifting about $35 worth of merchandise from a dollar store. I did not steal this stuff and had receipts to prove it but the manager and the officer both refused to look at them and said I was lying!
They confiscated everything I had in my bag including $40 , some private papers and my receipts. However I'm being told that all they took was the ''stolen'' items. It's my word against theirs so what can I do?

The only thing that I think you can do is go to the officer's higher ups and complain.
