Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania
simple assault, lower sentence?
I was charged with simple assault, however the detective told me off the record he was gonna try and drop it to a summary offense. Can/should I believe him, what is the liklihood of it being dropped to a summary offense?

Re: simple assault, lower sentence?
At a preliminary hearing the officer may reduce the charges based on the circumstances involved to a lessor charge. However, most municipalities/district justices require that you have an attorney present.
