Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania
Son has misdemeanor on record
My 23 year old son was living above a bar. When he went to move out, he left some of his things in the room for over a week. When he went back to get them, the owner had a lock on ther door.
My son used a screwdriver to get in and get his things. Apparently he didn't relock the door. Someone else got in there and the owner says did some damage. He had my son arrested. He hired a lawyer, but it was going back to court many times, and it was $l,000 each time. Now my son is on probation and has a misdemeanor on his record.
Is there any way to get this off of his record? I'm afraid it will effect is ability to get a job.

Re: Son has misdemeanor on record
Unfortunately, there is no way to expunge a conviction in Pennsylvania. The only possible route for your son to clear his record is to obtain a pardon from the governor. I generally suggest waiting five years after the completion of probation to start the pardon application process.
