Stop watching tv. There is only a "svu" in large, large cities. It's not too late to report a rape 30 days later, but there are issues related to proof at that point. A rape victim should immediately get a medical exam/rape kit exam at the hospital. Otherwise, there is significant room for a defense attorney to work on creating reasonable doubt as to whether a rape actually occurred.

In philadelphia county, there is an svu unit and depending on the severity of the act, they most likely are involved in the case in some way. In every other county in pa, the answer depends on whether there is even an svu unit at all.

As far as the 30 days, we have seen sex cases that were reported 10 years later. These issues are for trial, not for whether they will make an arrest.
