Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Teron Utsey

Crime Unlawful use of vehicle in the state of PA. My son was charge with this crime in year 2001, While incarcerated in 2005 on an unrelated crime he went before the Judge on the 2001 crime/he pleaded guilty and then in December of 2006 he received a letter from the Judge stated that she promise to give him concurrent/not consecutive. Does this mean that he should get time served already

Re: Teron Utsey

So, if I understand, he never answered the 2001 charges until 2005?? Judges don't send "letters" to defendants. Not sure what the "letter" is. If the judge sentenced him to concurrent time, that means that the sentence on both crimes would run at the same time. His sentence on each would begin on the day that he was sentenced on each crime, unless he was entitled to time served on one of them (you can't get time served on two different cases).
