Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

terroristic threats

If a juvenile posts in an internet chatroom a threat to bring a gun to school and a possible shooting to follow with no actual attempt to follow through with the action, is this grounds for conviction of terroristic threats and what would be the sentence if convicted?

Re: terroristic threats

It depends on exactly what was said, and the context of what was said. Basically, though, a person wouldn't have to take a step toward doing what they threatened to be convicted of this offense.

I may be interested in this matter if what you are asking about actually occurred. My other question would revolve around what kind of discipline, if any, the school is imposing.

Re: terroristic threats

This depends upon what the circumstances were and exactly what was said or done, I recommend you immediately contact an attorney prior to (if it is you) your preliminary hearing. I am also extremely interested in this matter if this relates to the Franklin Regional HS case. But to answer your question, yes, you could be convicted of the said charges on your limited acts alone!
