Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania
Theft of Services
I received a notice of hearing from the Magistrate stating that a video rental company in my area is charging me with theft of services because I did not return a movie. First the movie was locked in my boyfriends house. Then a friend of mine of killed and I had to deal with that. Now they have filed against me. Should I fight it? If I plead guilty what are the ramifications?

Re: Theft of Services
Pleading guuilty will make you a convicted thief and therefore highly unemployable. You have a good defense, You did not intend to deprive them of the movie. You probably can just pay them the cost of the movie and possibly court costs. You should speak with an attorney. I offer free consultations.
