have u ever heard of a law enforcement agent being discredited in a case? what does it mean?

I think it must mean that a cop's testimony is either not believed, or otherwise discounted so that it is effectively no competent evidence at all. "Discredited" isn't a particular evidentiary term of art that I'm aware of, and I've been practicing criminal (and other) law for 15 years. Hope this helps.
