Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania
I work at a pizza shop as a delivery driver, and recently have noticed the other drivers are easily stealing a hundred dollars a piece a night. It would save my boss countless thousands to fire and possibly sue them. I am the only one (besides the 3 drivers that are stealing) that know about this.
My questions are:
1. Would it be blackmailing to ask my boss for a slight raise if i could save him thousands of dollars (and help him sue these people, if possible)
2. How easy would it be to sue? One of the drivers has been working there for 5 years, and I've witnessed him stealing every day for the past month. He has a nice house, and tons of expensive stuff... too much for a delivery drivers salary. So, How hard would it be for my boss to prove he has been stealing for the whole time he has worked there, and get all his money back?
Thanks in advance for your help!
1 Answer from Attorneys
If they're stealing its a crime and they would be made to pay the boss back as part of their sentence.
There would be no need to sue and pay for an attorney. Though the boss could sue the problem would be all he gets is a hunting license. If its restitution as part of a sentence they pay or go back to jail.
I think that expecting something extra from the boss for just being a loyal employee is scummy.
