You need to speak to a lawyer. you should be able to have the charges dismissed if you pay the money due. Otherwise you will need the lawyer to properly present your defense. I offer free initial consultations.

A lot depends on the amount of the check. If this was a large check you definitely should obtain counsel. If it was for only a couple of hundred dollars, you may be able to resolve it at the Magistrate level by simply making the check good. You do have a defense to the criminal charges. The statute on bad checks provides:
"(a) OFFENSE DEFINED.--
(1) A person commits an offense if he issues or passes a check or similar sight order for the payment of money, knowing that it will not be honored by the drawee."
