Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

I'm writing a novel. If a client and the layer were both murdered would their attorney client privilege be void? Could the police troll through the lawyer's papers?

The attorney client privilege might still exist between the lawyers representatives, and estate of the deceased client.
