Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Pennsylvania
I lost my 13 year career with an employer in the matter of a few months due to what I believe was retaliation. I truly believe my Assistant Manager on my shift retaliated against me because I asked a question at a meeting. At the meeting he was discussing changes and I asked a question regarding these changes, changes that would affect my workers. It was very clear that the Assistant Manager did not like me questioning him. After 13 years of not having a single incident with this company this Assistant Manager seemed to take a personal interest in everything I did and looked for fault in everything I did as well. After 13 years without any issues I lost my job in a period of a few months after I asked that question at that meeting. I was a dedicated employee to the company for 13 years, because I asked a single question at a meeting, because I questioned this Managers plan I truly believe this manager did what he could to get rid of me. FYI: The company involved is Lowe's, I worked for 13 years in distribution.

You should review your matter with an attorney concerning the facts involved in your case. Retaliation is used more in the context of your filing a complaint of discrimination either with an agency such as Pennsylvania Human Relations Commision or EEOC regarding a belief that the employee has been discriminated pursuant to those areas of discrimination protected by laws. ie Age, sex, disability etc.
