Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Pennsylvania
I'm a manager for a large company. Recently, an employee accused me of making a racial comment towards black people. This employee also convinced other employees to write statements, collaborating her story. Though the investigation showed I did not make the comment, they were planning on disciplinary action against me. Until another employee, who verified I never made such comments, informed my boss that the employee making the claim, was trying to get him to also go along with her story. Now, it seems the company is sweeping the entire issue under the rug, when there is a section in the handbook about making false and slanderous statements. There is no action being taken the accusing employee. What are my legal options against the employee? And the company? Would my job be in jeopardy if I pursue the matter?

No blood; no foul. You can sue for defamation, conspiracy, intentional interference with contractual relations + more -- just off the top of my head. If you are not out of a job, your damages and thus any available relief are too tenuous and therefore un-economical for a serious litigator to take your case.
