Personal Belongings at workplace

I was fired from my job back in May 2008 (I filed a complaint with PHRC regarding this termination and the ruling is pending). I was not allowed to pick up my personal things (Sr VP was present and could have supervised what I was taking) and was told that they would be sent to me. Instead of sending they sent a driver from the company to my home. I did not claim the box since I had no idea what was inside. I sent an email requesting a list of contents and who had packed the box and offered to come to my old office and pick up. I was told to ''stay away'' . The company then had their lawyer send me an email telling me what was in the box and that if I wanted my things they would once again deliver to my home. I did not answer this email. Now 10 months later they are sending me a letter telling me to pick up my things at their lawyers office that is located in Delaware ( I worked in PA). What recourse do I have?

Agree in writing to accept fedEx or UPS delivery of the items in the box and that will be the end of it.

Pay an employment lawyer 100 and he will scan your factual background for possible recoveries and then take the stress out of the matter by sending the necessary information to opposing counsel via direct correspondence.

Someone needs to tell you - What kind of petty BS is this? Do you want your "stuff" or not? You did not indicate there was any problem with the "stuff" in the box they wanted to return to you, so why didn't you accept their offer to deliver it to you? You could have had the driver open the box to look in the box and even document what was in there if you were afraid they would not return something and later claim they did. This is passive aggressive crap, and I can't believe you are wasting people's time on this. If you have a case, sue, if not bugger off and get on with your life.
