Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Pennsylvania

workplace harassment

I have a different political view than most of my coworkers. They, including my direct superior, constantly make references to my political party and/or put on radio programs which differ from my viewpoint. They are constantly making comments at the lunchtable and sending me emails. I really do not want to talk politics at work. However, I also do not want to be hassled on a daily basis. Does hostile work environment fit this scenario?

Re: workplace harassment

(Age, Race, Sex, Gender) which protected class are you of those 4?

In short while you may not like your co workers political views. Its hard to see how its hostile to the 4 categories listed.

RCRSNO

Title VII protects against discrimination based on religion, creed, race, sex (in the sense of gender) and national origin. If your different views are a function of one of the protected classes - for example "creed" then you have a colorable case; otherwise, not.

Good Luck.
