Legal Question in DUI Law in Pennsylvania

ard time

Im just curious as to how long the time is for expungement of records for ard dui. I was told after my court stuff by my attorney that it would all be gone in 7 years this happened in october 1999 in bucks county pa. but i have been reading that pa dot will not remove it till after 10 years. this is real pain in the you know what because this has screwed me out of a lot things id like to do employment wise. BELIEVE ME DUI IS NOT WORTH IT.

There are two issues that maybe are being combined. You are entitled to an expungment after successful completeion of the ARD program. A "secret" record is kept now for 10 years previously for 7 so that you cannot receive it more often than allowed by statute. To get the expungmenty then you need to petition the court for it.
