Legal Question in DUI Law in Pennsylvania

Given citation for purchasing alcohol , i was in backseat.

I was in a car with the driver, 19, front seat passenger 16, and me in the backseat (19). My two friends up front wanted to try and get a runner to buy beer for them. I was peer pressured into going because the driver only has his permit and i have to be in the car when he drives ( i have my license). A marijuana sting was going on and my two friends asked the dealers who were undercover cops to buy us alcohol. Shortly after a cop attained our info. He asked for my information and social security. I asked him why he wanted the information he replied harshly, '' do u want to go to jail'' so i said no. and gave him my info. Later he told me were were all getting citations. He said he would talk to his sarge and try and make it a disorderly conduct. Should i fight this? I honestly had no intention of drinking. I was just there so my friend could drive. I intentionally sat in the backseat just in case we did get pulled over. Thanks for the help.

A lot depends on the Magisterial District Justice and what the police say. It's difficult to predict these days because a lot of MDJs are not attorneys. Attempting to purchase alcohol is a summary offense. You and your friends probably want to ask for a "pre-adjudication disposition" under 42 Pa.C.S. section 1520.
