Legal Question in DUI Law in Pennsylvania

Cited for drinking, what to do now

I got caught with a beer tailgating outside of a baseball game today by undercover state police, I am 19 by the way. We were all on our first beer so they cited us for underage drinking. They were very unclear but they seemed to indicate that since we are all first time offenders with no record there was a program we could ask for, in which we would pay the court cost and do 24 hrs of community service and it would be taken off our records. Any idea what this is and if it works this way? Also any advice on the best course of action, we are guilty but we want to just get this over with without losing our licenses and with as little heartache as possible? Will they take our licenses away for a first offence?

Via the community service can we do whatever we want or do they assign us stuff? Also if we did the 24 hrs before our court date which isn't for a month, would that count

Lastly, can we ask for the police notes to see what they said about us so we can craft the best story possible for the court?

Thanks

"crafting your story" is a bad idea atmiimum and a felony if you were to lie. Instead of ARD, because the offense is a summary one, there could be a dismisal with satisfaction or an amendment of the citation to disordely conduct which would spare your driver's license from suspension. You should speak with a lawyer. I offer freee consultations.
