Legal Question in DUI Law in Pennsylvania

DUI Probation and Spouse

My wife recently received a first offense DUI. She has enrolled in a first offender program. As part of her probabtion (or at least this was told to her by a probation officer) she was told she cannot have any alcohol in the house for the length of her probation. I called her PO and was told this was true. I asked if I, as the spouse, was allowed to have alcohol in my own house or drink a beer while watching TV. I was told that any alcohol on the premisis would be confiscated and my wife arrested. I guess this includes my vintage port collection. Is this true? How can this be?

Re: DUI Probation and Spouse

Probation is granted as a mercy by the court. To accept the probation you must accept the conditions that attach.
