Legal Question in DUI Law in Pennsylvania

Dui

I received a DUI in PA over the weekend and have court. I live in NEW Jersey so what would happen if I didn't go. Would it affect my licens?

A warrant would issue for your arrest and NJ DOT would likely issue a suspension for failure to respond. DUI isnot particularly serious for a first offense. You should speak with an attorney. I offer free intiial consultations.

Yes, your license could be suspended in PA. Then, Penn DOT would notify NJ DOT and NJ would send you a letter suspending your license for failure to respond to a driving violation in PA.

More importantly, if you failed to appear for your court date, a warrant woul dbe issued for your arrest. Then, you spned more time in jail than you will if you handle it properly. Retain an experienced criminal defense attornay in your area. He/she can help you.
