Legal Question in DUI Law in Pennsylvania
DUI sitting in my vehicle
Hello, my situation is this: I left a bar, of which I was too drunk to drive, it was raining like crazy so I went to my truck to sit and get out of the rain to make some calls to my friend who had a ride coming. I couldn't get a hold of my friend so I just sat there and listened to some music, key turned back. Cop came up because at that time of night I was technically parked illegally. I took the field sobriety test, breathalyzer, blood test etc. So I got a DUI for sitting in my vehicle, which I understand is the law here in PA. I'm going to get a really good DUI attorney, but my real question is that the cop that got me talked to a third party, mutual friends about some details of my arrest. These friends are not part of law enforcement and he described things in some detail, meaning he didn't just say ''he got a DUI'' which would show up in the paper. Is this breach of confidentiality and can I get this DUI case thrown out on that technicality, I'm sure as an officer you can't do that, but just wanted to get a law answer. Thank you.
