Legal Question in DUI Law in Pennsylvania
Does this make sense?
I was arrested for a DUI last November, I received ARD from the DA in January and started ARD/Probation in april. In August because I am stupid and had a well paying job offerin NC decided that my probation officer wouldn't notice I was gone and moved to NC. Well he did in fact notice I was missing and tracked me down through my last landlord. He called me and told me to come back to PA to work things out, if I refused he would revoke my ARD and have a warrant issued for my arrest. I received a letter in the mail today from the public defenders office from the town where I used to live in PA. It stated that at a criminal conference the DA had offered a plea bargain, and that he would drop the summary charge against me and I would receive a ''Standard Guideline Sentence on the DUI charge and the summary offense will be dismissed''. I had a .190 so I am looking atleast 72 hrs in jail, will the judge give me 72hrs if this is my first DUI or am I going to court and getting the book throw at me?

Re: Does this make sense?
There are two types of pleas. One were the DA recomends a sentence the other were the judge either accepts the sentence or rejcts it. If the judge rejects then you go to trial. You need a lawyer to make sure it gets put in writting as a flat 72 hour sentence.I offer free consultations.
