Legal Question in DUI Law in Pennsylvania

Underage charge by admission only

I am 18 years old, can I be charged with underage drinking by my admission only? No breathalyzer was given and the police did not catch me ''in the act'', was questioned at police station and told to write and sign a statement. Should I have been offered an attorney prior to the questioning and statement? I admitted to drinking in my statement, but they have no other proof.

Yoy should have been mirandized prior to questioning. You at the very least should be able to have the charges reduced to disorderly conduct. I offer free consultations.

Yes. You can be charged without your admission, as well. The police can charge you with impaired driving by the indicia of drinking: slurred speech, etc. In addition, drinking as a minor carries with it some serious penalties. Feel free to contact my office to discuss. We offer free consultations, and can either defend you or find someone for you.
