Caring for a Parent

My mother is in a nursing home.

May I charge a fee for related expenses, i.e., travel, taking care of financial matters, time involved, etc.?

Re: Caring for a Parent

You might be able to charge for your services depending on the situation. If you do intend to charge, then you ought to consult an attorney to prepare a written caregiver agreement and to advise you on issues including the Medicaid and tax implications of entering into such a contract.

If you wish to discuss the matter further, you may contact me by phone or e-mail.
