This depends on the extent to which you wish to use the saying. If you wish to use the entire lyrics to a song, you will have an issue. If you want to use common phrases you may be able to get away without permission. Generally speaking, if the words could have come from anywhere, you can use them. If they are a common phrase in our language, you can use them. If they are clearly from a song, they are copyright protected and you will need permission.
