Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
i am a 17 year old female. i take care of my 40 some year old step mother. she uses me as a type of slave so as she dont have to get up and work. I love my dad but he is oblivious to the amount of stress im under being in my senior year trying to succeed in planning my future but i am being held back by my stepmother who wants me to stay at home to take care of her. i feel like im going insane. i am in physical therapy to help me deal with my step mother. i have two different stomach diseases because of the stress. i was wondering of there is any legal way i can leave my house before i turn 18 without being emancipated.

Unless your parents consent you would have to file for emancipation to leave home.
It time to wake dad up and get him to see whats going on. I hate to sound like Dear Abby but perhaps if you raised the issue with your guidance counselor at school maybe dad would take your complaints seriously.
