If you are divorced, it sounds like you may have been divorced without resolving the issues of spousal support, alimony and division of property. As a general rule, prior to the entry of a divorce, the parties enter into an agreement that provides for the amount and duration of support and how the property, such as a joint bank account, will be divided.
