Re: adjust support of spouse

If you are divorced, it sounds like you may have been divorced without resolving the issues of spousal support, alimony and division of property. As a general rule, prior to the entry of a divorce, the parties enter into an agreement that provides for the amount and duration of support and how the property, such as a joint bank account, will be divided. These issues can be complicated so it is best to consult with an attorney. If you do not know an attorney, you can contact your local bar association for a referral. Support claims are handled by the domestic relations division of the court of common pleas in your county. They may be able to answer your questions about modification of spousal support.
