Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
adoption birth mother wants son back, possible fraud
My daughter placed her son for adoption through an Adoption Services in Pa on May 23rd of this year. She lives in NC. At the time of his birth she was under extreme duress. She has brought to our attention that some papers were not signed by her and the adoption agency may have signed and notarized her name. it is our concern that this is not a reputable agency and my daughter regrets her decision and would like to explore if her rights can be reinstated and the adoption reversed with her regain custody of her son. She has requested copies of the paper work but Adoption Services says she is not entitled to any paperwork. How can we verify if the papers are in order and that her signature was not forged? Is her mental state a factor? Is there anything that can be done to get her son back before too much time passes? We were unaware of the pregnancy and the adoption until Oct 1, 2007.

Re: adoption birth mother wants son back, possible fraud
You asked about reversing an adoption.
Adoptions are customarily reversible within the first year. But it is not an easy process and requires an attorney experienced in the area.
You should look for an attorney local to the area where the adoption occurred that is experienced in adoption law.
