Adoption by step dad

How do my new husband and I go about doing a step parent adoption? My daugther's father is not on the birth certificate and has never been involved with her or even ever seen her. I don't even know where he is. He left when I was pregnant.

The easiest way is for your husband to file an acknowledgement of paterenity if no father was listed on the birth certificate.
