Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
Adoption
Can a 19 year old sign the papers for adoption without his parents signatures? Can he force the mother of the child to give the child up for adoption if she is only 18 and wants to keep it and raise it with his financial support?

Re: Adoption
A 19 year old is a legal adult who can consent to an adoption, as is an 18 year old mother, although he cannot force her to sign a Consent. Once a Consent to adoption is signed there is a statutory period of time whereby it can be revoked. If she wants to keep the child, the father cannot waive his duty to support the child and will have to do so, unless the mother also consents or remarries and her husband adopts the child.
