Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
Birth certificates
My ex just had a baby and says it is mine she wants my information and she wants my information for the birth certificate. I think the baby is mine but I am not 100% sure. I have not signed any paper work or given any information. I was there for the whole pregnacy and for the birth. I just want to be sure that I am not going to be stuck by giveing my information even if I don't sign the paper.

Re: Birth certificates
If you acknowledge paternity by allowing your name to be placed on the birth certificate you legally become the child's father. Meaning that you are now financially responsible as well as morally responsible for the child. If you later find out that the child is not your child, it will be difficult, if not impossible, to remove yourself from financial responsibility for the child. If you are uncertain whether the baby is yours you should have a paternity test done.
