Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

birth father's right after rescinding paternity

I am an unwed mother caring for my 3 month old daughter. Her father had signed the acknowledgement of paternity paper at the time of her birth. I recently received a letter that he has rescinded his acknowledgement of paternity and would like to know whether he may now claim paternity again and if so how long does he have to make this decision. There have not been any legal filings in the court concerning child support or custody at this time.

Re: birth father's right after rescinding paternity

If you file for child support the issue of his paternity would be addressed at that time. Paternity laws are somewhat complicated. Your best bet is to contact an attorney to review your rights and options.
