Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
change of jurisdictiion
I am trying to change jurisdiction from the state of Maryland to the state of Pennsylvania. If custody and visitations have been settled where child lives in my custody and mother has visitation rights. I recently filed a petition to change jurisdictions but was denied. The Court of Common Pleas of Adams County, PA, sent me an order stating that my change of jurisdiction petition was denied pursuant to 23Pa. C.S.A. 6347 Maryland is the proper forum even if child home state is in Pennsylvania. Please help me define reason, I want to know what that article means. Thank you.

Re: change of jurisdictiion
Federal law requires states to implement certain procedure to ensure fedreal goals regarding child support. One of the requirements was that jurisdiction does not change unless the parties agree to the change of jurisdiction.
