Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Name Change

My son is in the process of a divorce with a nine month old son. At the time of the birth they were married and to this day married. My sons wife gave the baby her maiden name although she goes by her married name. This had finally went to court with my son on the witness stand for 1 1/2 hours. There is a continuance and the judge alloted one half day for the hearing. However, the judge called the two attorneys into chambers and said that she pulled a fast one and he was old fashioned and the baby should have his fathers last name. The judge also suggested the babys last name to be hyphenated. The cild will have over a 25 character name not including his middle name. She agrees to the hyphenation because her family name is tainted in our area with drug use, criminal activity and jail time. We were trying to save our grandson from this humiliation and the complicated last name. The judge would like to see an expert witness at the hearing. Any suggestions?
