Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Cheating Husbands Loan

Had credit card bill-$7000(Most mine, some husbands),He took $14000 loan from his credit union(i had to co-sign).House a/c broke so he used $7000 of loan for that.He left me 1/05 to live w/another woman. He stopped auto pymts on his loan. As co-signer I had to remortgage my home to pay off his loan (House is in solely my name.) I think he should have to pay the $14000 since he was the primary signer of the loan. I am now a single mom raising 4 kids and have no money. can i get him to pay me back the $14000??? Thanks, DT

Re: Cheating Husbands Loan

Well you could sue him for it. Though it sounds that would solve your problem with the loan it won't solve all your problems.

As for the 4 children, assuming their his, he owes a duty of support. He may even have a duty to help support you. To enforce that duty call the Domestic Relations Office to get a support order in place ASAP. At least to start that you can do that on your own.

Long term it looks like you have a good divorce case against him. You could either file for a consent divorce or for adultery. Actually you could file a divorce on both grounds. The divorce is going to be a little more complicated as there will probably need to be a master appointed to allocate the property and debt of the marriage.

If you have further questions feel free to contact me. I do NOT charge for the initial consultation.
