Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Child Custody

My child's mother and I have been on good terms. I signed over all rights when I was 19 to go into the air force, which inturn shot me down due to having ''flat feet''. Since then I have been bullied around to say the least. The child requests to see me and is not allowed to talk on the phone. We had a legal agreement signed on visits but it was never upheld by her and I do not have a copy on hand. I wish I knew how to get a copy of the agreement that we had made at my local courthouse. Also if I need to go back to court I would appreciate advice on how to get that ball rolling without a lawyer. The child needs braces and she will not help to pay for them. I pay her twice the obligated child support a month plus pay for all clothing, sports, toys, education, and music lessons. I am not a rich man. I am a full time college student as well as working full time. She is married and makes alot more than I do. I just love my child and I do let him do without for her husband does contribute towards any bills that would involve my son. My son and him do not get alone as well. My son is ten years old and does not want to live with his mother but I am told I have no legal rights(by her). Please help I would appreciate anything. Thank you.

Re: Child Custody

To find the agreement is not that hard. You need the names of the parties involved and the year the agreement was filed. The visit the Prothonotary at the court house. The should be able to find it. If not ask mom for a copy if she refuses you file suit for custody.

As to doing this with out a lawyer that would be foolish. You say you are paying 2 times the child support which speaks to the quality of legal representation you have had so far.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me, the initial consultation is free.
