Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Child Custody

My mother has primary and physical custody of my daughter. And she lives in PA and i live and work in Las Vegas NV I want to be apart of my daughters life and she is not allowing it When I say this meaning no phone contact no letters pics email nothing she has managed to shut me out completely And im very afraid that she will try to adopt my daughter.

Then pretty much its over and i could not be able to withstand that she is my only child and I do not want to lose her.

Please what can I do to regain custody or just for now contact

Re: Child Custody

Is there a court order that gives your mother primary and physical custody?

If so what court entered the order, when and why?

Good luck to you.

Re: Child Custody

If you wish to regain your custody rights including partial custody rights you will need to file a custody action in Pennsylvania as this is will the child lives.

The good news is that your parental rights can not be terminated without your consent unless your mother files for an involuntary termination of parental rights as part of an action to adopt your daughter.

You need to act quickly. As a matter of public policy the courts will be willing to allow you contact and partial custody of your daughter. Even if it has been some time since you had such contact. Getting primary custody would require a strong showing that you should have primary custody as the courts prefer not to upset the status quo.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me, the initial consultation is free.
