child custody
my nephew 17.5 wants to live with paternal aunt to finish school, in the school district he has lived in for 10 years. mother has custody now since father been in rehab.has lived with aunt for 4 months to finish school year, 2008

First, how does mom feel about the son finishing up school with you? If she's agreeable then go for it. If she is not agreeable you may lack standing to seek custody. That said at age 17.5 the court will actually listen to the child. He does have standing to ask the court permission.
