Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Child custody in PA

My ex boyfriend and I have a 4 year old son. we broke up 5 months ago and moved 20-25 miles away. we had a verbal agreement that we will have a 50/50 custody of our son. i feel that my son needs a stable and a good home to live in permanentely. furthermore, my son is not being well taken care of. his dad rarely goes food shopping and doesnt do laundry often and keeps the house untidy and dirty. im a devoted mother and i feel that my son doesnt deserve to live like this. his only 4 years old. he cant do his own laundry and cook when he gets hungry. often times, his dad also takes him with him to deliver items for his work (his in sales) even as late as 8 or 9 pm on a school night. he goes to daycare but he still goes everyday in the morning. im not a mean person, but i feel that if he cant take care of our son then he doesnt deserve him. i'm willing to give him visitation rights.

Re: Child custody in PA

You have the right to petition the courts to establish a custody order. The agreement you have is unenforceable. Besides once the child begins school the current arrangement will be impractical.
