Child Custody

My son is 25 days old. The father wanted nothing to do with him, and even requested that his name NOT be put on the birth certificate. He is now threatening me with a custody battle. He verbally threatens me, harrasses me, and even stalks me. I am afraid for my sons safety. I am living with my parents who are financially stable, but I currently do not have a job. What can I do?

Here in the Commonwealth you'd file for a Protection From Abuse Order in Texas they might be called protective orders. Go get one! You don't need a lawyer. Next you need to petition the court for custody. It pays to be the petitioner rather then the respondent.
