Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

new child

I am currently on maternity leave. I am also paying child support to my ex. I would like to spend more time with my daughter before returning to work. It would like to take a year or so off to care for her. How would this affect my child support obligation? Since I would be unemployed during that time.

Re: new child

The first thing you need to do is file for a reduction in child support as soon as possible. A reduction can be made onlt to the date of filing of the petition. You may have a good case. Courts in PA apply a test when people voluntarily leave their employment. As long as the reason you left your job was not to avoid child support payments you should be entitled to a reduction.
