Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

child support and emancipation

My stepson is 18, still in high school, and has always lived with his mother. He recently moved out without permission, and is now living with his dad's parents. His dad wants to end paying child support and instead receive support. Can he do this?

Can we emancipate the stepson since he refuses to take direction from the custodial parent/

Re: child support and emancipation

Your child support would have to go to Dad's parents, not Dad. Parents have a duty to support their children until they graduate from high school. For more information, best to contact an attorney.
