Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Child support hearing

we were in a hearing today in front of a judge and a whole courtroom of people, I have severel ongoing medical issues, that are interferring with working, my ex's attorney was demanding to know everything about my medical problems, and the judge was making matters worse. I produced enough documents that told them why I could not work, from 3 doctors, but the other attorney wanted more detail. Am I not protected by the hippa act or something close to it? I dont believe my ex, or a whole court room needs to know the extent of my medical problems, the hearing is going to be rescheduled, but I dont want to have this happen again, there has to be some law I can fall back on, my ex he just hates that he has to pay support

Re: Child support hearing

The problem is that support appeal hearings are public. HIPPA doesn't apply as you have to prove why you should prevail.

If you're in the jurisdiction I think you are your ex will not have it easy.

That said if he has an attorney you should have one too or its not a level playing field.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me. The initial consultation is free.
