Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

child support

My husband pays child support for a child living in Pittsburgh, PA. He has just lost his job. Can he get a modification to his child support to lower his payment at this time? Can he get a modification for a lower payment if he is unable to find employment at the same salary level he was once at? We were told a modification for reduction could only be filed if his job was eliminated, not if he was fired. Is that true?

Re: child support

I'm not sure what it would cost to file for a modification in Pittsburgh. Its $15 in Harrisburg but the cost vary by county. In any case it will be a lot less then the get out of jail amount if you don't at least attempt to modify.
