Child support question from new spouse

My new wife has been asking me about child support issues. She is concerned that if she opens up a new business, will that income be

calculated in to my child support payments. She does not want to work harder just to give my X wife more money. Maybe she should just file a separate tax return? Any advice is appreciated.

child support is based on your income not that of your new wife.

Unless you have a very high income your living expenses are not an issue.
