Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

child support without rights

The dad of my baby to be born in 3 months has a medical diagnosis of partial paralyzation and is a cocain addict. I cannot prove this in court but I ahve statements from people who knew him that he was doing weed and his medical record says he did cocain. He stole over 500 from em and i have the forged checks. I want him to pay for his baby but as described above he does not deserve any rights because he is bad and a cocain addict. I have a PFA against him because he wanted me to get an abortion. I was not going to put him on the birth certificate but then i cannot get child support. Are there any programs for single moms who do not get child support? Or can I get child support and he have no rights? Please help me I really need it. THank you

Re: child support without rights

You asked a number of questions about support.

You really need to speak with an attorney to suss out your situation. There are multiple issues. Such as the birth certificate, just because a person is not listed on the certificate does not mean they cannot be required to pay support. but placing a name on the birth certificate may entitle them to more rights than would otherwise be allowed.

If you cannot afford an attorney then go to a legal clinic. Most law schools have legal clinics and any law school can steer you towards resources that can be of assistance in your community.

Good luck.
