At what age is it considered legal to leave children home alone for more than 6 hours without any adult supervison

Pennsylvania does not have a set age for when it is legal to leave a child alone. A parent is responsible for the safety and well being of a child until the age of majority. If a parent leaves a child alone and creates a risk to that child, he or she may be liable for neglect at any age, and further responsible for any consequences of that neglect.
Generally, an accepted minimum may be 12 or 13, but this must depend upon an evaluation of the situation and the child. Each case is individual.
