Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Childs custodial bank account

My daughter lives with me. She had a bank account which her father is custodial of. He withdrew her money and told her it was to pay child support. Can he do this? It is on $720 but she is 17 and wanted to use if for her car insurance.

Re: Child's custodial bank account

The fact is he did. The other fact is he just destroyed whatever relationship he would have with her.

As a practical matter child support is owed to the child. Hardly seems right that he should take from the person to whom its owed.

He may have had a right to do it but it doesn't make it right.

For the $15 or so it would cost might be worth it to have him explain his actions to the DRO.
