Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Child's rights

My son would like to know what his rights are in our divorce. He is 16, and is completely capable of being involved in our divorce situation (we've been divorced for 9 years). Thanks!

Re: Child's rights

At 16 he should have input as to custody should custody be at issue.

That said I would advise against involving him in anything else regarding the divorce. The standard for issues relating to divorce and custody is "the best interest of the child".

Many courts feel that involving children in a divorce is contrary to the best interests of the child.

Because you been divorced over 9 years I would hope that the custody and child support issues have been resolved by now.

What exactly is the issue at hand?
