Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
claiming child every other year
I'm going through a divorce and i would like to claim my child every other year during tax time. Can I draw up the paperwork myself (assuming my wife agrees to it) or should i have a lawyer or judge do it? I do pay child support through the courts.

You would want to have an attorney either draw it up or review the document prior to submitting it to your ex. That way, you will ensure that your bases are covered. Also, there is a form from the IRS itself that your wife, as custodial parent, would have to execute to make sure that they know you can declare the child as a dependent.
